A Note From Mom

This is just a quick note right at the beginning, about what I had in mind when Fergus and I started this blog.

Mostly this is for Fergus, and whatever he wants to say. I hope that in a few months' time, I would have disappeared from it completely except in comments and as technical help where he needs it.

Secondly, it's for me to have a record of everything we learn over the next two years, getting ready for High School. There's a lot of catching up to do meanwhile, and music to learn, and online to explore.

I also hope it becomes a place for stories, like Dr. John's stories that he set in his model-railroad town of Pigeon Falls. Now that Fergus has a model train set of his own, that could work out to be the perfect setting for him to practice some creative writing, work on social situations, and who knows what else.

Then of course there's the list of links that we can add to as we find things, so that Fergus has a shortcut to all his favourite places and friends, as well as educational links. I've added a few social networks so that while he's meeting and making new friends among our neighbours in West Virginia, he can hopefully find some kindred spirits online as well.

There's more to this idea I'm sure, but it's not all coming clearly at 2am.  Good night!

First Post and Funnybones

Last week Aedammair and I went to Funnybones. 

It's Friday night now, and we're wondering if Margaret will come tomorrow.

I think we'll meet her in Drumshanbo.
